Today Room 1 explored google draw. I drew

Sailing with room 1

 Yesterday room 1 went to Lake rua to try sailing. We listened to the instructor as she told us the parts of the boat. When we were finished we got the boats out of the shed, then we got the parts of the boat and made the boat.

Once we had morning tea we got changed into our togs and wet suits. After that we practised turning on land. We had to push the tiller to turn the boat then the sail would come over your head once that happens you get up and piviet quickly and then you sit down on the opposite of the boat.

Once we masterd that we walked over to a launching station and got into groups of 3. Once we did that they put a yellow can out in the water so it is a marker for us to turn around. My group was Axl Makkus and me. 

Once we launched the boats it was no turning back. I fell in 4 times but the water was not cold it was a good temperature.

Tough run

 Today room 1 went to south new Brighton park to do a tough run. We walked in the zone and sat down for a briefing then the first schools lined up. We were listing for our school to be called and then we lined up. When we started Hunter and I tripped over and then we got trampled.  Some of the obstacles were involving the estuary and a river, we had to run in that 3 times. At first it was very cold but after i put my head under it was fine.

After we got out of the estuary we sprinted into a foam and dishwasher liquid water slide. Hunter and I made it the whole way. When we came down this steep hill we got hosed of by the fire trucks as we passed the finish line. We got some bananas.

Overall I thought it was really fun so thanks alot Mash kids for putting this together.

Fisrt aid with st john

 W.A.L.T understand what to do in a emergency.

Paula came from st john to teach us about what to do in a emergency.

D - Danger, Look, See and smell for 5 seconds to see if any sharp objects are on the ground.

R - Response, Shout and talk to the paitiont to see if they are conscious or not. If they haven't responded use the back of your hand and hit them on the collarbone.

S - Send for help, If they didn't respond call 111.

A - Airway, Tilt your pationts head back so they dont swallow their tongue if they do do that it means that choke.

B - Breathing, If you dont know if they are breathing kneel down and put your ear close to their mouth and put your hand on their stomach for 10 seconds.

C - C.P.R, If they are unconscious start C.P.R. You link your fingers through your knuckles and start your comprehensions. 

D - defib ( AED ), Just listen to the person telling you the instructions.

Samoan thing

 

Volcano eruption!

 W.A.L.T see the reaction of vinegar and baking soda.

Over the past 2 weeks we have been creating paper mache volcanoes. We used shredded newspaper and glue to stick on a plastic bottle. When we have finished that we glue on white pices of paper then we painted it.

I used water, baking soda, red die and vinegar. When it erupted  i saw bubbles fizzing out of the top.

I would have more baking soda and vinegar to make the explosion bigger.

Today in class the seniors tried 2 different types of cyber smart tools. We would go on google meet and listen to the lady who was presenting. I did pick a path and canva. A positive thing was I got to learn new things. A mince was that they were going to fast. Interesting part was the learning.

Today for book character day we had to dress up. I dressed up as a all black. In the middle was Axl (dream the youtuber) and on the right is Hunter (Biker).

Narative - Grafiti Street

A man named Henry Wagner does graffiti on a street nicknamed Graffiti Street. The street was packed full of graffiti but he found room to do another one. It was like a never ending trail of graffiti but he could find room to do another, it was like a queue of monkeys getting their bananas because it was so packed. On a Saturday night he heard sirens, so he quickly packed his spray cans into his bag and went off like the speed of light. He ducked in the allies and kept to the shadows, “ thank the lord I didn't get caught” said Henry.


He took a little break for a day or two and then he went out again. When he was stuck into a really cool drawing about Steph Curry doing a dunk over Lebron James he heard a little noise coming from around the corner, he walked over to the corner but there was no one there so he carried on doing what he loved… “PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND GET ON THE GROUND” Henry thought oh no! It was the police and some secret agent dudes. He tried to make a run up the building to get his parachute but when he jumped the police said “TASER TASER”...


He jumped but at that moment he got tased! He just got the parachute open but he lost control and passed out. He was rushed to hospital and 4 weeks later he had 96 stitches in his face from the fall and the glass!
 He is in a coma because he hit his head so hard that a rock would break. He had a massive gash on his eyebrow and deep cuts because he landed on some glass.

Then he went to court about what he did, there were heaps of people there the judge said I hear by sentence Henry Wagner to jail for trespassing and disrespecting private property for 7 years in west county prison. Then there was a huge riot in the court about it being a skill but the judge did not budge.


When he first walked into the jail he muttered wildly to himself saying “why did I start doing graffiti” when he got to his cell he did not get a positive vibe about his cell mates. Days, weeks, months and years passed he started to change into a horrible man. He started being one of the really mean people in the prison so he got moved to high security, he got kept in his cell for 22 hours a day! 


It was his last year in prison and he had changed but when he started thinking about what happened in court he said “I should start a protest saying graffiti matters to people who love it”. He was going to start a charity and have people coming in for lessons on how to do it and he would make disablity kids free for the lesson because they are going through a hard time.


When he got let out he got a bunch of people to do a protest then he got hundreds and thousands of people in the New York main road. There were other graffiti artists protesting and people with megaphones shouting out the saying “graffiti matters”!


It got on the news all over the world and there were protests on the streets all over the world as well.

3 years later he was taking classes left right and centre, he never knew he would gain this much attention!

He made it free for disabled kids because he thought they can do something and 5 dollars for normal people. He has got some kids from when he first started and they are as good as him now!

He won some awards for being the world's nicest and caring guy.

So i had to write a heroic story about someone so I did it about me saving my dad by getting the lifeguards to get him out of the rip.

How I did my timzing decimals

W.A.L.T to times decimals for math. 

I did a strat from my teacher which is the old fashiond way.

It is simple once you get the hang of it.

You just have to times the number like 3 x 2 = 6 then 3 x 9 = 27 so you do 27.6!

Then you put a 0 on the end then you do 1 x 2 = 2 then 1 x 9 = 9 so add them together which makes 9.20!

Then on the last stage of the procedure you have to add them together which makes, 6 + 0 = 6 then 7 + 2 = 9 then last but not lest you do 2 + 9 = 11 and you get 11.96!

You put the decimal 2 in because you have 2 numbers after the decimal point.
