Sailing with room 1

 Yesterday room 1 went to Lake rua to try sailing. We listened to the instructor as she told us the parts of the boat. When we were finished we got the boats out of the shed, then we got the parts of the boat and made the boat.

Once we had morning tea we got changed into our togs and wet suits. After that we practised turning on land. We had to push the tiller to turn the boat then the sail would come over your head once that happens you get up and piviet quickly and then you sit down on the opposite of the boat.

Once we masterd that we walked over to a launching station and got into groups of 3. Once we did that they put a yellow can out in the water so it is a marker for us to turn around. My group was Axl Makkus and me. 

Once we launched the boats it was no turning back. I fell in 4 times but the water was not cold it was a good temperature.

Tough run

 Today room 1 went to south new Brighton park to do a tough run. We walked in the zone and sat down for a briefing then the first schools lined up. We were listing for our school to be called and then we lined up. When we started Hunter and I tripped over and then we got trampled.  Some of the obstacles were involving the estuary and a river, we had to run in that 3 times. At first it was very cold but after i put my head under it was fine.

After we got out of the estuary we sprinted into a foam and dishwasher liquid water slide. Hunter and I made it the whole way. When we came down this steep hill we got hosed of by the fire trucks as we passed the finish line. We got some bananas.

Overall I thought it was really fun so thanks alot Mash kids for putting this together.

Fisrt aid with st john

 W.A.L.T understand what to do in a emergency.

Paula came from st john to teach us about what to do in a emergency.

D - Danger, Look, See and smell for 5 seconds to see if any sharp objects are on the ground.

R - Response, Shout and talk to the paitiont to see if they are conscious or not. If they haven't responded use the back of your hand and hit them on the collarbone.

S - Send for help, If they didn't respond call 111.

A - Airway, Tilt your pationts head back so they dont swallow their tongue if they do do that it means that choke.

B - Breathing, If you dont know if they are breathing kneel down and put your ear close to their mouth and put your hand on their stomach for 10 seconds.

C - C.P.R, If they are unconscious start C.P.R. You link your fingers through your knuckles and start your comprehensions. 

D - defib ( AED ), Just listen to the person telling you the instructions.

Kawa of Care

 W.A.L.T identify how we look after are Chromebook.

I need to remember to charge and look after my Chromebook.

I also need to remember to not eat over my Chromebook.
