Math

W.A.L.T do integers for math. The equation was Sue had to pay $89.50 at the super market, she only had $24 so she owed $-64! My strategy was the old fasion way.

Book review

DEAR: Diary of a Wimpy Kid no 5

For the past 3 days I have been reading a cool and fun book called Diary Of A Wimpy Kid - The Ugly Truth (number 5).

 It is about the main character Greg and his family and their life. It talks about him going to school. He recently started the life class and he had to look after his egg that his teacher gave him. When he got home he had to try keep it in a very safe place.

He has a younger and older brother that he has to keep it away from. When Greg bought some comic books he put them in the top of his cupboard and 2 hours later he saw his little brother shredding them. So he put his egg in the fridge.

The next morning he opened the fridge and it was gone. Then he said to his mum "where is the egg that was in the fridge?" and she said "it is your breakfast." When he got to his life class he brought his scrambled egg to see if it would pass. It didn't.

I'm not sure what will happen next but I can't wait to find out!

Rhyme meaning

WALT write using figurative language and part of this is learning about rhyme and how it works. 

I found some of the definitions hard to understand until I looked at examples then it made more sense.

Defintion for ancient olympics

WALT understand the meaning of some of the words in the Ancient Olympic text.

I knew what most of them meant already and then picked a couple of others that I wasn't sure of.

Coordinates

WALT understand how to get from one point to another on a grid by using the X and Y axis and coordinates. 

I found how to actually do it hard to start with but once I found the coordinates for the 4 shapes I understood what the instructions really meant.

I found this task easy because it all about sport which is something I love doing and know a lot about.

WALT know more about the Ancient Olympic games and what events they competed in.

I had to find out how to spell Olympics properly as I spelt it olimpics by mistake. I enjoyed researching about the events and learning about Stadion which I had never heard of before.

Onomatopoeia

WALT to understand what is meant by figurative language recently.  Today we learnt what onomatopoeia means plus some examples of what it is.

I found spelling the actual word hard but when I broke it down it was easier.  Once I researched some examples I understood what it meant and I think I will remember it and use it in my writing.
